چکیده
Abstract Background Data on non-organized colorectal cancer screening using fecal occult blood tests (FOBTs) is currently lacking. We identified factors associated with organized and FOBT screening. Methods of 308 municipalities in Flanders (6.6 million residents, 57% Belgium) during 2015-2017 were analyzed. Logistic regression generalized estimating equations was used to assess associations between municipal characteristics coverages. Results Median coverage increased (36.4% 40.1%) while decreased (4.8% 3.3%) 2015-2017. Organized negatively average income (OR = 0.97, 95%CI: 0.96-0.98) percentage people a non-Belgian/Dutch nationality 0.962, 0.957-0.967). More older (70-74) the target population related lower coverages by both 0.98, 0.97-0.99) 0.96-0.999). Education level positively 1.010, 1.008-1.011). While GP visit coverages, number patients per having global medical dossier handled preferred showed more pronounced 1.021, 1.016-1.026 OR 1.025, 1.018-1.031, respectively) compared coverage. Conclusions Higher income, education level, foreign involvement positive association It seems that some GPs screening-invited individuals are still not fully aware benefits Available instruments programs should be optimized fill this gap knowledge. Key messages (FOBTs). Based knowledge, strategies can developed promote among non-participants encourage participants switch

Factors Associated with Organized and Opportunistic Cancer
Cancer is the most common cause of death in Korea (Statistics Korea, 2011). In 2009, 69,780 people died of cancer, accounting for 28.3% of all deaths in Korea. That year, the incidence was 398.9 per 100,000 men and 376.9 per 100,000 women; it had increased rapidly from 1999 to 2009, growing annually by 3.3% (Jung et al., 2012). Because of the high incidence of cancer, the Korean National Cancer...

BACKGROUND Outreach (i.e., to invite those who do not use, or who under use screening services) and inreach (i.e., to invite an existing population who have already accessed the medical system) approaches may influence people to increase their use of screening test; however, whether their outcomes would be equivalent remains unclear. METHODS A total of 3,363,896 subjects, 50-69 years of age, ...
متن کاملOrganized colorectal cancer screening in integrated health care systems.
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is an ideal target for early detection and prevention through screening. Noninvasive screening options are the guaiac fecal occult blood test and the fecal immunochemical test. Organized screening offers the promise of uniformly delivering screening to all members of a population who are eligible and due. Organized screening is defined as an explicit policy with defined ...
متن کاملScreening for prostate cancer: are organized screening programs necessary?
Already in 1991 when the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test was proposed as a diagnostic test, screening for prostate cancer (PCa) was considered controversial due to the considerable risk of detecting latent PCa. Randomised controlled trials were initiated to assess the potential of PSA-based screening in reducing disease-specific mortality. Harms and benefit were closely monitored and both ...
